Te Aomihia Walker

Te Aomihia Walker (Ngāti Porou) is a dedicated kaitiaki passionate about advancing Māori self-determination in the moana. With over a decade of experience in fisheries policy, environmental management, and Indigenous governance, Te Aomihia has worked alongside iwi, hapū, and industry to integrate mātauranga Māori into marine and, more broadly, environmental decision-making.

Alongside her mahi with Tapuwae Roa, she is also undertaking a Master of Professional Practice at Otago Polytechnic, focusing on Māori workforce, kaupapa, health, safety and research capacity in the aquatic sector.
